Debate Includes Art Work of 6 Farmingdale H.S. Students

Talented local students selected for exhibit "Expressions of Democracy" on display at Hofstra.

Six Farmingdale High School art students have been selected to have their artwork displayed at Hofstra University’s “Expressions of Democracy” series, preceding Tuesday's Presidential Debate.

Local artists were encouraged to express their creativity and thoughts on social issues currently affecting Long Island. Six students, whose work features issues facing Americans today, are being presented as part of the “Social Realism” art exhibit.

The Farmingdale School District issued congratulations to sophomore Amanda Pathmanathan for receiving honorable mention in the series exhibit.

The district also honored the following five students for being selected:

  • Amanda Hayman
  • Nicholas Florio
  • Alecia Fuschetto
  • Michael La Gattuta
  • Ashley Pabon

The winning artwork will be on display in Hofstra University’s Axinn Library and Hagedorn Hall until Oct. 22.
