Elementary Student Council Helps Local Animal Shelters

Farmingdale's Albany Avenue Elementary School student council recently learned about animal rescue shelters and saving abandoned animals.

Representatives from the Sean Casey Animal Rescue Organization brought a shelter dog to the school to demonstrate proper animal care. Prior to the lesson, students collected newspapers, old towels, soap and other items to donate to the shelters.

As a token of their gratitude, the shelter presented the Albany Avenue Student Council with a certificate of appreciation.
