Farmingdale State College Spring 2012 Open House

Farmingdale State College will hold its spring 2012 Open House in Nold Hall. All are invited to this free event.

Unique this year will be the opportunity to vote for the People’s Choice Award for one of the student projects celebrating our Centennial Year.  In the fall, the College challenged students to create a project on the past, present or future of their discipline.  Those projects, which include video presentation, sculpture, an interactive microsite, prototypes and posters, are ready to be judged in the lobby of Nold Hall.  Farmingdale State College turned 100 on April 15 and part of the celebration will be awarding prizes to these students.  Be sure to vote for your favorite. President Keen is expected to announce the winner at 11:30AM inside the gym.

Open House provides an exceptional opportunity to meet professors and counselors as well as see the campus via student-led campus tours of classroom buildings, cafeterias, labs and residence halls. Shuttles to the Aviation Center at Republic Airport will be available and two new Piper Warrior planes will be on display.

Staff from athletics, admissions, financial aid, housing, and the health and wellness center will be available to answer questions.  Professors will describe their classes and job opportunities upon graduation. It’s worth noting that the College ranks in the top 110 public colleges nationally in terms of the earning power of its graduates, according to payscale.com.

More than 2,000 prospective students and family members are expected to learn about bachelor degree programs such as aeronautical science, applied economics, art, applied mathematics, applied psychology, business management, professional communications, dental hygiene, nursing, sport management, telecommunications technology and more.

Farmingdale State College is affordable – tuition and fees are only $6,093 per year.

Find out why full-time enrollment at FSC has increased 80 percent since 2000. With more than $185 million being invested in new construction projects on the 380-acre campus, including a campus center and school of business, Farmingdale State is definitely worth seeing.

Visiting a college campus during your search for the right school is one of the best things you can do to find out if the school is the best fit for you. A college tour is worth a thousand view books. With affordable campus housing, students can live close to home but not AT home. Visiting Farmingdale State gives you first-hand, and in some cases hands-on, experience about what this college is all about.

Please make a reservation on the college’s website: www.farmingdale.edu.
