Farmingdale High School Hosts 2014 Wall of Fame Induction Ceremony

Distinguished Farmingdale High School alumni were recognized during its 2014 Wall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Monday at Farmingdale High School’s Thomas W. Guilford Lecture Hall. 

The graduates were honored by the Farmingdale School District and Farmingdale High School Wall of Fame Committee

Benjamin Giminaro, M.D. (Class of 1938)                                                

Dr. Benjamin Giminaro is a life-long resident of Farmingdale and has served as a reliable and trust-worthy physician for thousands of residents throughout the last 50 years. He has served his community in a variety of roles, including as chairman of the Farmingdale Zoning Board of Appeals, president of the Farmingdale-Bethpage Historical Society and Farmingdale Rotary Club and a board member on the Town of Oyster Bay’s Board of Ethics.  Dr. Giminaro additionally served as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy Medical Corps.

Alfred Graf (Class of 1976)                                                          

Mr. Alfred Graf currently serves as the representative of the 5th District in the New York State Assembly. Assembl. Graf represents parts of the Towns of Brookhaven and Islip.  He is a veteran of the United States Navy and New York City Police Department.  He is also a graduate of the State University of New York-Plattsburgh and Touro Law School.  Mr. Graf has also been a Suffolk County legal aid attorney, the Town of Brighton Supervisor and the founder of the Adirondack Association of Towns and Villages.

Tansar Mir, M.D. (Class of 1994)                                                   

Dr. Tansar Mir is a certified trauma, hand and reconstructive plastic surgeon, who is certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery.  He is a graduate from the State University of New York-Stony Brook School of Medicine, and was recognized in the medical industry for his extensive research on wound healing. Dr. Mir is engaged in community service as well as he has donated his time and expertise to perform surgery on burn victims and those with cleft lips and palates during humanitarian missions to Peru and the Philippines.

The Farmingdale School District and Farmingdale High School Wall of Fame Committee congratulated the inductees, noting that the three have contributed to the community, serving as role models for current and future Farmingdale students.
