Farmingdale Profs Featured in Art Exhibit

"Evolutions" to display different stages of faculty's work.

The Faculty members of's Visual Communications Department will be featured in an exhibition designed to display their early and later works. 

The exhibit entitled "Evolution," runs from Aug. 27 until Sept 21. at The Memorial Gallery in  

Each professor in the Visual Communications department was asked to submit two pieces of art: one old, one new. The current piece, ranging from traditional art through graphic design; the older piece can be viewed as being an important work that highlights change, development, influences, and that constant search for one’s own voice.

This  important work may represent an awakening to the realization of having arrived as a visual artist. This may be something completed in childhood or in college, or even early on as a professional. All artwork will be accompanied with a narrative describing each artist’s evolution as a visual communicator.

Gallery hours: Monday through Friday from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. Admission is free and the gallery is accessible to persons with mobility impairments.

A receception is planned for Thursday, Sept. 13, 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.
