Farmingdale State Commencement Saturday

Several people singled out for honors as nearly 1,200 expected to graduate.

Farmingdale State College will graduate almost 1,200 students on Saturday, reflecting significant growth from its first graduating class of 30 students.

Though the commencement robes may look black, they’re really green – made from recycled plastic bottles.

“Students are really pleased that their robes are environmentally friendly,” said President W. Hubert Keen.  “We’ve been getting very positive responses – and as we like to say – Green Then. Green Now.”
