A Farmingdale resident who studies at Nassau Community College was recently honored by the college.
Candace Lopez received the NCC Student Activities Award, presented by the student activities staff in April.
The award recognizes students "who have made important contributions to student activities or athletic programs at NCC through active participation and dedication," according to a new release.

Students earning the award must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 and have completed at least 45 credits.
