Farmingdale Students Finish in Top 10 In NY DECA Competition

Farmingdale High School business and marketing students won big recently in the New York State DECA competition in Rochester, NY.  

DECA is an international educational program that prepares students to be leaders and entrepreneurs in the marketing, finance, hospitality and managements fields. 

Several Farmingdale High School students placed in the top ten in their respective categories, and three students will advance to the International DECA competition in Anaheim, California.

The Farmingdale School District congratulates the following students for earning distinction in the competition: Danielle Bolan: 4th Place, Decision Making Marketing; Rachel Fishman: 4th Place, Visual Advertising; James Cavanugh: top 10, Decision Making Marketing; Timothy Barclay: top 10, Accounting Applications; Jasmine Rashid: top 10, Hospitality Professional Sales; Michelle Fredricks: top 10, Human Resources Management: Ryan Stryska and Alec Szigeti: top 10 Business Law and Ethics; Ali Ryan and Alexa Torrens: top 10, Business Law and Ethics; Daviah Witter: top 10, Food Marketing; Mackenzie Ferrara, Racel Fishman and Michelle Fredericks: DECA Honor Society inductees.
