Holy Trinity Dedicates New Crucifix

Donors gather to celebrate symbol of faith.

Through the gift of more than 50 donors, Holy Trinity High School installed a new crucifix in front of the school and gathered recently for a Mass of dedication.

Holy Trinity’s chaplain, the Rev. Joseph Fitzgerald, began seeking funding for the project at the school’s 45th Anniversary Mass in November of 2011. All of the funds were donated by current families and alumni, as well as the installation services and surrounding landscaping.

Fr. Joe reflected on the significance of this symbol of faith.

“It is a blessing that our families and alumni were able to contribute to this project," he said. "The crucifix is an important symbol of our faith, which is the foundation of the education that we provide here at Holy Trinity.”

Holy Trinity High School is a private, co-educational Catholic high school founded in 1966 drawing students from Nassau, Suffolk and Queens counties.  For more information, visit www.holytrinityhs.org.
