Three students at Holy Trinity Diocesan High School were honored in the annual “Voice of Democracy” essay contest held by the Hicksville VFW for the district’s students.
This year’s theme was, “Is Our Constitution Still Relevant?”
Teachers from three Hicksville schools judged the essays. They were then read and judged by members of the William Gouse Post 3211. The awards ceremony will be held on Feb. 25.
The Holy Trinity winners were:
- First Place, Senior Kimberly Nicolas of Westbury
- Second Place, Junior Kathleen Horan of North Massapequa
- Third Place, Junior Adrina Rodriquez of Baldwin
Holy Trinity High School is a private, co-educational Catholic high school founded in 1966 drawing students from Nassau, Suffolk and Queens counties.
