Marching Band Performs at Festival

More than 200 Farmingdale High School students performed.

The marching band performed at the 49th annual Newsday Marching Band Festival at Hofstra University last month.

"We were amazing," said Board of Education president Shari Bardash-Eivers . "We looked great, we sounded great and our lines were straight."

The band, which consists of 210 members, performed next to last and played hits like Taio Cruz’s “Dynamite,” Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance,” Enrique Iglesias’s “I Like It” and “Forget You” by Cee Lo Green.

"I enjoyed every minute of it," said school board member Tina Diamond.

MSG Varsity will feature Farmingdale High School in “The Marching Bands,” a three-hour television broadcast of this year's festival on Thanksgiving Day from 2 to 5 p.m.
