Marching Band Show to Air on MSG Varsity Thursday

You can watch Farmingdale's performance on "The Marching Bands" telecast.

Farmingdale High School's Marching Band will be featured in MSG Varsity’s special “The Marching Bands” airing on Thanksgiving Day.

The Dalers will appear on Optimum channel 14 from 2-5 p.m. part of a three-hour television event highlighting the most talented marching band programs on Long Island in the 50th annual Newsday Marching Band Festival.

Featured will be interviews with band leaders, student participants, commentary from MSG Varsity’s Keith Irizarry and sideline reporting from Suzy Stark.

“The Newsday Marching Band Festival is a long standing tradition on Long Island and MSG Varsity is proud to share in the spirit of this timeless event,” said MSG Varsity’s General Manager Theresa Chillianis.

Held each October at Hofstra University, the three-day Newsday Marching Band Festival is an annual exhibition presenting some of Long Island’s most talented high school marching bands.  A portion of the ticket sales goes to each of the participating high school bands, as well as the Newsday Marching Band Grant program that assists Hofstra music students in their studies.

MSG Varsity’s “The Marching Bands” television event consists of three, one-hour specials – one hour for each day of the Newsday Marching Band Festival, which was held this year on Oct. 23-25. Performances from Oct. 23 will air between 2-3 p.m., those from Oct. 24 will air from 3-4 p.m. and those of Oct. 25 will air from 4-5 p.m.

SG Varsity’s “The Marching Bands” is produced by Emmy and Ace Award-winning producer Martin Ehrlich. Providing expert commentary is Oceanside Band Director Michael Vetter and Manhasset High School Marching Band Director, Randy Krudsen.

Hate to sound like an old woman, but when it was Von Leeson's it was always a joy to be there. AllRead More the staff had been there for years and treated the customers like family. Food was consistently good and they never "ran out" of anything. This place shouldn't be open for business. The poor kid waiting on us last time had to come to me and tell me they had no dessert to have with coffee other than ice cream. We left him a nice tip and I told him to find a job somewhere else; he'd never make any money there. It's a great location. We just need some smart business people to run it!

Sorry wont be going back any time soon, unless I see a new mngment or new owner sign.

. This place is just not good. There is nothing appealing about poor service and absolutely horribleRead More food. It should have stayed closed when it went out of business not long ago. I hope the employees can find another means .
