More than 1,000 students graduated from at its 92nd Commencement Ceremony on Sunday.
Dr. Bruce Stillman, president of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory and an award-winning researcher on DNA replication duplication in cells, was the keynote speaker.
“Bruce Stillman is an extraordinary researcher, educator, and administrator,” said Farmingdale State College President W. Hubert Keen. “To have him share his experiences with our students speaks to the quality of our institution and our students.”
The Class of 2011 Valedictorian was Shaheen Kahn, a dual major in business management and computer information systems, who maintained a 4.0 grade point average. She served as president of the Sociology and Anthropology Club, president of the Golden Key Honor Society and vice president of Sigma Beta Delta.
Farmingdale State College students Lauren D’Alessandro, Aristoteli Dorizas and Andrew Hesse received the Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence.
