School District Issues Letter About Bus Company Bankruptcy
District says it will know more in mid-December about issues involving Atlantic Express.
The Farmingdale School District has issued a letter saying it is monitoring the bankruptcy of its school bus contractor.
In a letter on its website, the district reported that the recent Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing by Atlantic Express Bus Company allows the Staten Island-based company to continue to operate while reorganizing its finances. The district says it is monitoring the situation daily.
The district says it will know more about the bankruptcy case and the future of the company in mid-December. The district said it will keep parents informed of developments.
