Runners will set off Saturday from the southern end of Woodward Parkway at 8:30 am, head north and then south again, ending at the Farmingdale High School track.
The Long Island 5 Kilometer Run/Walk is managed by the Greater Long Island Runners Club and is also sponsored by the law firm of Mejias, Milgrim, Alvarado.
will be among the 500 women who will be running or walking. The Nesconset native has been the USA Outdoor 20 Kilometer Racewalk champion for the past three years. Her next racewalk is t the Olympics in London.
The race will go north on Woodward to Sullivan, east to Juniper, south on Crestwood to Lincoln, north on Sunset, around the high school and ends at the track. See the accompanying .pdf map.
