Dalers Bowling Wins Nassau Championship

The team will head to the state championships.

The boys bowling team, led by sophomore Steven Hamlin, won the Nassau County Championship at Garden City Lanes last weekend.

The team finished in second last year, short by just 19 pins. They year, they were ahead by one pin going into the fourth game, gained a 89-pin lead after the fifith game and won with a total score of 6,332 after the final game. 

"It's absolutely amazing," Farmingdale coach Joe Bianca Sr., who will take the team to the state championship for the first time in his coaching career, told Newsday. East Meadow finished second with 6,308.

The team  including strong bowling co-captains Steve Harris and John Lombardi. Harris finished the regular season last year with over a 200 average and he joined five other top Nassau County bowlers to form the

The Dalers finished first in their division to earn a spot in the championships last year and in the 2006 - 2007 season.
