It’s a big week for Farmingdale High School basketball. Both girls and boys teams play Nassau Class AA semifinals with an eye toward winning the county championship.
Led by a veteran cast that includes senior guard Dalique Mingo, the Daler boys basketball team faces Uniondale at 5 p.m. at SUNY-Old Westbury. Farmingdale, paced by Mingo’s 21 points, beat Carey, 72-59, in the quarterfinals.
No. 1 Baldwin plays Hicksville in the other semifinal at 7:30 p.m. The title game is Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Hofstra.
Perennial champ Uniondale ousted Farmingdale from the semifinals a year ago before falling to Baldwin in the title game. Now it’s the Dalers’ turn to journey deeper into the Nassau playoffs.
