Farmingdale Girls Lacrosse Rolls Into Class A Final

Dalers blow out Oceanside, 14-2, to earn a trip to Nassau Class A championship game.

attacker Kim Kolodny got the Dalers on the right track and the team just kept on going.

Kolodny scored three goals early first half Tuesday as the Dalers won, 14-2, over Oceanside in the Nassau Class A girls lacrosse semifinal at Adelphi University.

The senior captain's trio of tallies gave Farmingdale a 3-0 lead before senior Colleen Reynolds and junior Brenna Weill also scored to make it a 6-2 lead at halftime.

The second half was more of the same as the Dalers would score eight more goals while shutting out Oceanside the rest of the way.

"I think we just wore them down athletically as the game went on," said Farmingdale Coach Shari Campbell. "Some of our girls just know where the cage is and they know how to put the ball in the net."

Kolodny certainly knew her way to the net,  scoring a total of six goals in the game to match her total from .

"She is a pure athlete and she knows what she's doing out there on the field," Campbell said. "She has helped us to be a better team all season long."

Other contributors included Weill, who came up with three goals, and Cassie Perettine, who had a pair goals. Colleen Reynolds added a goal and had four assists.

The Dalers will now play Massapequa in the Class A championship game next Wednesday night at Adelphi.

Campbell said her team is ready for the Chiefs. "They are our crosstown rivals," said said. "We know them better than anyone else. It's going to be a great game."
