Farmingdale State Player to Work Out for Knicks

A.J. Matthews is one of six players at workout.

Farmingdale State basketball center A.J. Matthews is one of six players who will work out with the Knicks Wednesday.

The NJ.com website reported that the 7-0, 240-pound player from Brooklyn will struggle to prove himself but that the junior center is an outstanding athlete who didn't take up the sport until he was a high school sophomore.

The New York Post said he "is fast becoming the underdog story of the NBA Draft."
