A.J. Matthews continued to add to his Farmingdale State legacy. The senior from Brooklyn recently became the fifth Rams men’s basketball player this century to reach 1,000 career points.
Matthews, playing in just his second season with the Rams, reached the mark in a 62-49 win over Mount Saint Vincent.
He was honored before Tuesday’s regular season home finale against Yeshiva. Coach Erik Smiles presented the 7-foot-1 star with a personalized ball.
Matthews was named co-Skyline Player of the Week Monday, the sixth time this season.
He is currently fifth all-time for career points and second all-time in rebounds.
