NCAA Tourney: Rams Face Amherst

Familiar foe awaits Farmingdale State in first round of NCAA Tournament.

The Farmingdale State women's basketball team qualified for the NCAA Division III Tournament for the third time since 2003 and will face fifth-ranked Amherst Friday at 7 p.m.

The Rams (12-12) went from No. 4 seed in the Skyline Conference Tournament to champs with a in the title game. The win gave Farmingdale State its second conference title ever and a berth in the NCAAs.

But the Rams have a tough draw – and a familar foe. Amherst (26-1) beat Farmingdale State, 72-48, on Jan. 8.
