Rams Scoreboard: Basketball Teams Sweep Bard

Snow storm delays NYU-Poly doubleheader.

disrupted the Ram's sports schedule. The basketball double header against NYU-Poly originally planned for Wednesday was postponed twice. The men's game was rescheduled for tonight at NYU-Poly at 8 p.m. and the women's game was moved to Friday, Feb. 10 at 8 p.m.

Women's Basketball

Farmingdale State 79, Bard 25:

The Rams allowed a season low 25 points in a 54 point blowout on Saturday. Farmingdale's defense clamped down on the Raptors, allowing only three baskets in the first half and forced 36 turnovers for the game. Natasha Smalls recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds and recorded six blocks in only 16 minutes. The blowout allowed the Rams to give plenty of minutes to their bench players, who scored 44 points, significantly more than the entire Bard squad. Lushanta Savadel scored 10 points and pulled down 12 rebounds in reserve duty. The Raptors shot 18.4 percent for the contest.

Men's Basketball

Farmingdale State 81, Bard 53:

Up by one with 7:29 left in the first half, the Rams went on a 17-2 run to finish the half with a 40-24 lead they would not relinquish on Saturday. Dyshaun Flournoy and Ricco Oliver each scored 15 points and Josh Smith scored 14 to go with 10 rebounds, six offensive. The Rams shot 39.4 percent in the contest but held their opponents to just 31 percent. Farmingdale outrebounded Bard 53-31 and took 16 more free throws.
