Rams Scoreboard: Coach Mooney Scores 200th Career Win

Basketball win streaks end at Mount Saint Mary.

Women's Basketball

Mount Saint Mary 49, Farmingdale State 45: Mount Saint Mary held the Rams to 16 points in the first half on 17.6 percent shooting to remain undefeated in the Skyline Conference. Farmingdale State cut the lead to three late, but were not able to get any closer. Kayla Koch was the only Ram in double figures, leading the team in points and rebounds with 15 and nine. No other Ram hit more than three shots and hit just 23.7 percent from the field for the game. The Rams won the turnover battle 26-16, but was not able to convert that edge into points on the scoreboard.

Farmingdale State 66, Mount Saint Vincent 59: The Rams forced 31 turnovers en route to a come from behind victory on Wednesday. Down by eight with 9:12 left in the game, the Rams went on an 18-2 run to seal their fourth straight win. Farmingdale State started out cold, hitting less than 30 percent of their first half shots including 1-13 from three, before staging the comeback late in the second. Nikita Green scored a game-high 20 points while Natasha Smalls grabbed 15 rebounds.

Farmingdale State 81, Staten Island 55: The Rams had a tremendous second half run to give head coach Chris Mooney his 200th career win on Monday. Up only four points late in the game Farmingdale State went on a 20-0 run that resulted in a insurmountable 75-51 lead with only five minutes remaining. Koch lead the team with 19 points and grabbed six rebounds. The Rams offense wasn't clicking in the first half, hitting just 28.6 percent of their shots and trailing by one at halftime. They corrected it in the second by shooting 51.7 percent. Staten Island was outscored 49-22 in the second half.

Men's Basketball

Mount Saint Mary 74,  Farmingdale State 68: The Rams shot 50 percent in the second half but allowed their opponent to shoot 52 percent in the half on their way to a six point defeat on Saturday. Dyshaun Flournoy scored a game high 20 points, but shot just 6-17. Mount Saint Mary relied on a balanced attack with four players in double figures, lead by Tim Morris with 18 points. The Rams were outrebounded 40-30. The loss drops Farmingdale State two games behind first place Mount Saint Mary.

Farmingdale State 92, Mount Saint Vincent 65: The Rams hit half of their three point shots (9-18) to win their third straight game. Farmingdale State came out hot in the second half, shooting nearly 50 percent (13-28). They used a balanced attack that saw four players score in double figures. Flournoy lead the way with a team-high 17 points. Jermaine Abraham notched his second straight double double with 11 points and 12 rebounds while John Dabney and Robert Adon scored 15 and 13, respectively. The Rams outrebounded Mount Saint Vincent 59-36, including 21 offensive boards.

 Farmingdale State 72, NYU-Poly 49: Abraham scored 16 points and pulled down 12 rebounds to lead the Rams to victory in the make up game against the Fighting Blue Jays. The Ram defense was stellar, holding their opponent to 17-70 shooting (24.3 percent) for the game. The Rams had their own problems putting the ball in the basket, shooting only 33.8 percent for the game. Flournoy chipped in with 15 points with five rebounds and three blocks while Josh Smith added 17 points with six rebounds and three steals. NYU-Poly remains winless on the season.
