Rams Scoreboard: Men's Basketball Takes Winning Streak into Finals Break

Women's basketball finishes calendar year with two blowouts.

Men's Basketball

Farmingdale 70, Bard 60: Farmingdale outscored Bard 42-6 and scored 23 second chance points en route to their second straight win before finals break. Jermaine Abraham had a game in points (16) and rebounds (12) for the 4-3 (3-1) Rams. John Dabney came off the bench to score 12 points and pulled down 4 rebounds. Bard shot 8-14 from three point range (57%) to stay in the game. Farmingdale enters the break winning three of their last four games, all of which were in conference. They are second in the Skyline conference in field goal percentage (47%) and first in shooting percentage against (39.6%).

Farmingdale 99, NYU-Poly 75: Farmingdale jumped out to a quick lead against the winless Blue Jays and built it up to 21 points at halftime. The Rams shot 51.4% for the game, a blistering 57% in the second half while holding the opponents to 38.2%. Josh Smith had an all around solid performance with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Dyshaun Flournoy chipped in with 18 points and Jermaine Abraham added 17 points in leading the Rams to their first home victory.

Maritime 72, Farmingdale 71: Josh Smith scored a team-high 18 points, but it wasn't enough as the Rams home opener turns into a one-point heartbreaking loss. Maritime's Giovanni Hurley had a tremendous game, scoring a game-high 24 points and grabbing 13 rebounds and blocking 3 shots. The Rams led for most of the second half, including a 9 point cushion with eight minutes left to play, but saw Maritime slowly climb back in to the game. The Rams defense didn't allow a point over the final 1:29 of the game, but the offense mustered just a single bucket in that stretch.

Women's Basketball

Farmingdale 95, Yeshiva 40: Shemique Hooks scored 21 points in leading the Rams to their biggest blowout victory of the early season. Kayla Koch had a strong contribution, adding 17 points on 8-10 shooting and 6 rebounds. Jasmine Davis had a game-high 9 assists. Farmingdale (5-3, 3-1) shot 55.7% from the field and limited the Maccabees to only 30.2%. Hooks was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week for her efforts, averaging 16 points and 4 rebounds while shooting 60%.

Farmingdale 82, Bard 52: The Rams defense forced Bard to committ 43 turnovers, leading to 47 points and a 30 point victory. Shemique Hooks had a breakout game, scoring 22 points on 9-15 shooting. Farmingdale would need the turnovers to win as their opponent outshot them 51.2% to 43.6% and was only 9-28 from the line. For the Raptors, Latiqua Williams had 22 points, becoming Bard's all-time career scoring leader. The Rams never trailed in the game.

NYU-Poly 49, Farmingdale 43: The Rams scored the first 11 points of the game but was outscored 30-18 in the second half and was handed their first conference defeat of the season. In the decisive second half the Rams would manage to hit only 8 of their 46 shots, 17.4%. The Blue Jays took their first lead with 6:53 left to play and would hold the Rams to only 4 points the rest of the game. Juanita Chappel lead Farmingdale with 13 points and added 5 steals.
