State Semi Win for Dalers Lacrosse
Farmingdale girls lacrosse advances to state Class A title game with 10-6 win over Penfield Friday.

The Farmingdale girls lacrosse team downed Section V champ Penfield, 10-6, Friday in a state Class A semifinal at SUNY Cortland.
Marking their first trip to the Final Four since 2010, the Dalers (15-3) jumped on Penfield early, taking a 6-4 edge into halftime.

Bridget Weill scored four goals and Nadine Hadnagy added three goals and four assists to power the Dalers, who return to the final after earning back-to-back state titles in 2009-10.
The Dalers reached the Final Four with a 12-11 win over Bay Shore.

Tara Wahl and Weill scored consecutive goals to turn a tie at 2 into a 4-2 Farmingdale lead with 10:49 left in the half.
Penfield (15-6) closed the gap to 7-6 on Lindsay Gamer’s goal with 11:57 remaining. But the Dalers answered with three straight to close the game.
Olivia Kirk registered five saves for the Dalers, turning away a Penfield squad that played in the state title game a year ago.
Now it’s Farmingdale’s turn – again. The Dalers face Section III champ Baldwinsville – a 9-8 winner over Suffren in the other semifinal – for the championship Saturday 9:30 a.m. at Cortland.
