Late in the fourth quarter Saturday, the Massapequa Chiefs scored a touchdown to tie the game at 26-26, but the Dalers drove down the field and Zach Kolodny's 32-yard field goal clinched the Nassau County Championship, 29-26.
Prior to the kick, Massapequa called timeout to give Kolodny a little bit extra time to think about the crucial kick, but the crucial play, but Kolodny drilled it.
“We practice the two-minute drill every week,” Kolodny said. “I was confident in our holder and our snapper. We work in drills for situations like this.”
“I have all the confidence in the world in him,” Coach Buddy Krumenacker said. “I’m proud of all of them.”
