Farmingdale Students Have Another Week Off

Also: Rosh Hashanah begins Wednesday evening.

Here's a quick look at the short week ahead in Farmingdale:

1. While many districts are opening school this week, Farmingdale students don't return to school until Monday Sept. 9. Of course, your kids probably told you that already.

2. The reason for the odd school schedules across Long Island is Rosh Hashanah, the Hebrew New Year 5774, which begins Wednesday evening and continues through Friday.

3. The Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce meets Thursday for a luncheon at  CaraCara Mexican Grill on Main Street. See details here.

4. The Chamber will also hold a grand re-opening ceremony and ribbon cutting for the Farmingdale Wellness Center Friday at 5 p.m. in the Palmer's Shopping Center. Details here.

5. The week's forecast calls for a chance of showers on Tuesday, than great late summer weather all week with highs in the '70s. See the NWS report here.
