The department currently operates under the Town of Babylon and began when the East Farmingdale area would no longer be protected by the fire services of the Incorporated Village of Farmingdale. The department headquarters is located on Conklin Street and also maintains other firehouse stations on Wellwood Avenue and Melville Road.
