Girl's Basketball

Last season: 18-2 overall. Conference champions.

"I really love their work ethic. They are all good athletes who play hard," said head coach Pete Cerrone. Adding eight new girls to the team isn't discouraging to Cerrone. "Same expectations all the time. The first is to win the conference and then go after counties." he said. "We never change regardless of who is in the gym."

Boy's Basketball

Last season: 4-8, 6th place

After coming off a rough season last year, coach Jimmy Pastier thinks his team can redeem themselves. "These guys put their work in since last March. They're primed and ready to go," he said. " They're on a mission this year."

Indoor Track

Last season: 13-0 (outdoor Track, Spring)

"Everything is going well so far," said head coach Walter Henning. There are many strong athletes on the team that Henning says have great potential. "Staying healthy is always a concern," he said.

The team will compete in two major races, the county and conference championship. "I would like to think we can contend for a county championship" said Henning.

Swimming and Diving

Last season: 7-3, 2nd place
Players to watch:

  • Vinny Mattei, sophomore, swimmer
  • James Mangione, junior, diver
  • Jimmy Barnola, freshman, swimmer

Swim coach Ken Ilchuk has high expectations for his team this year, "We have a lot of depth. We have some very good young swimmers," he said. "We feel like we can be one of the top 10 teams."

Varsity Boys Bowling

Last season: 26-4, 2nd in the conference
Players to watch:

  • Joe Inzirillo, senior
  • Steve Hamlin, sophomore
  • Eric Kennedy, senior

The Farmingdale bowling team graduated three seniors last seasons but coach Joe Bianca is still expecting his team to be competitive this year. "Our team will be as good as last year. I don't know if it's going to be better but than last year, but we're looking forward to a good season," he said.

Varsity Girls Bowling

Player to watch:

  • Christie Warmingham, seventh grader

The team finished in the middle of their conference. Head coach Kevin Neu is entering his second season and is excited to continue to build the program. "We always want to improve year to year. It's being consistent, that's what bowling is all about," he said.
