Victim Attacked, Robbed on Main Street

Early morning incident occurred near Nutty Irishman; police seek leads.

A 35-year-old man was attacked and robbed on Main Street in downtown Farmingdale early Friday, Nassau County Police said.

The incident began just before 1 a.m. in the vicinity of the Nutty Irishman on Main Street when the victim was approached by a man asking for $40.

The victim refused to give the man money but offered to take him home. While walking towards the victim’s car, the attacker began punching him and threw him to the ground, police said.

The subject went through the victim’s pockets, removed his cell phone and fled in an unknown direction. The victim, who was not hurt during the incident, was only able to describe the subject as a male black wearing dark colored clothing.
