Farmingdale State College is on schedule to open its new Children’s Center at in the fall and registration will continue until the daycare center is full.

The college announced Tuesday that the new facility has a state-of-the-art security system and air conditioned classrooms with plenty of space for supervised play both indoor and outdoor. The program will use four strategically designed play yards; its grand opening is slated for late September, college officials said.

The Children’s Center cares for the children of Farmingdale’s students and staff as well as the community, ages 8 weeks through 5 years old. Care is provided Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The new Center is located next to the campus gardens and has ample parking. Farmingdale State has been rated the fifth safest campus in the nation, according to The Daily Beast, an online publication.
