S. Farmingdale Pedestrian, 88, Dies From Injuries

Second victim expected to recover; no charges filed in the case.

An 88-year-old woman walking across Main Street has died as a result of a car crash Wednesday, Nassau County Police confirmed Friday.

Vincenza Bottazzi, of South Farmingdale, succumbed to her injuries on Thursday. She was 88, police said.

Bottazzi and her dear friend were running errands together Wednesday when they crossed Main Street and were struck by an oncoming pick-up truck, police and sources said.

So far, no charges have been filed in the case, a police spokeswoman said.

The other woman, who is not identified, remains hospitalized but is expected to recover from her injuries. The two women were close personal friends, out running errands around town, sources told Patch.
