DPW Battling Water Main Break
The incident is at Sullivan Road and Oakdale Boulevard; water may be discolored in the vicinity.
The Village of Farmingdale's Department of Public Works is working to secure a water main break in 20-degree weather and in advance of a major snow storm.
The village and Farmingdale firefighters reported that the break is Sullivan Road and Oakdale Boulevard.
Officials said residents in that area could see brown water for some time. The cause of the break is unclear but are typical this time of year when temperatures drop quickly below the freezing mark, experts say.
